Shaklee's Dish Washer Automatic Concentrate

One of my absolute favorite products by Shaklee is the Dish Washer Automatic Concentrate, Item #00295. I think I have tried every single dish washer detergent made my mankind. Tried them all and was never overly impressed them any. I even tried the homemade versions you find all over the internet. Never liked them at all.

Since I was trying Shaklee products the last several years anyway, I thought I'd give theirs a try. Finally! Finally a good one. And oh do I mean good. I. Love. It. Period.  It's a concentrate, so like all other cleaning products it lasts a very long time and you need so little. It amazes me that such a little amount works so well.

I don't rinse my dishes at all. I only scrape chunks off into the garbage and in the dish washer it goes. I wash everything on the "normal" setting, rarely using heavy duty wash cycle. A regular wash cycle with this Shaklee detergent works great. Never been so happy or impressed. As a matter of fact, I ran out once. I would not purchase another brand to get me by. Instead I washed them by hand until I ordered more. Of course, I wash them by hand with Shaklee's Dish Wash Concentrate, Item #00255 which I also love.

Bug Soother - Review

*** Update 6.24.17  :  This post was written in 2014. Since then 3 years ago, I have found another I like better, still natural, but more effective. You can see it here, Vanilla Bug Spray.

We have discovered Bug Soother this year. I have found that it works great, as in excellent, for the gnats. I think it works very good for mosquito's. Our mosquito's have been really REALLY bad this year. So on a normal skeeter year, I'd probably say it would work excellent too. But given our heavy skeeter's this year, it did a heck of a job on them.

It's a blend of vanilla and fresh lemony scents. I love the smell, I don't mind dousing myself in it at all. It doesn't leave that oily residue either.

I have used it for home and regular outdoorsy use. My husband has used it out at the farm he works at, near corn, crops and weeds where bug thrive. He said it was awesome. My nephew took it detasseling with him, another bug infested area. He loved it as well and thought it works great.

It's Deet Free, safe for children and pets, it's a natural product that qualified as an EPA exempted product.

We hit 2 parks for a picnic with Grandma & Grandpa since we were having such nice weather. Our first park was nice, then a large group of kids came and sort of overloaded us. Apparently I took no photo's at that park. Then we moved on to throw some rocks in the water, which seems to occupy A- for hours. Sticks, rocks and water are really all I've ever needed the last 6 years to make her happy.

Summer Reading Program

We love the summer reading program around here. This was A's first year with this library and they had so many neat and encouraging activities and programs. They also had a great pizza and prize party at the end. A- got 1st place for one of her crafts as well as 1st place for reading the most books in her age group and she also made the 100's club, which is reading at least 100 books. I believe she ended up with 134.

Swim Lessons

This is A's 2nd year for swim lessons. We go quite a bit ourselves and she's made big progress in just 1 year. Sorry for the poor pictures and video. The windows on the opposite side of the lobby really mess me up and I've only got a couple of jumps to figure it out.

Shaklee Cleans Car Seat

This car seat cover was getting pretty gross looking. Just washing it (prior to using Shaklee laundry products) did not do the trick. Here's what Shaklee did to it.

I filled the sink with Nature Bright Laundry Booster & Stain Remover Item #00305 and Fresh Laundry Regular Scent Concentrate Liquid Item #00066. I let it sit and soak for several hours. I then wash it with my regular clothes in Fresh Laundry Concentrate Powder Item #00156. Only using 1 oz. of powder to wash a whole load. A little definitely goes a long way.

Here is the before and after.

Canal Ride

Sometimes it's nice to go for a canal bike ride but this year we were bombarded with gnats, then flies and now mosquito's. Product review on a good bug repellent coming soon. I went for a 4 mile walk-jog this morning, then I went on a 4 mile bike ride with A-, then before bed I went for another 3 or so walk with the dogs. It's been a good day.

Shaklee Get Clean Video

A short video about Shaklee Get Clean products.

What does Oprah think about Shaklee Get Clean?  She'll tell you herself in this video. The Barnett's (chairman and CEO of Shaklee Corporation) tell you how and why they bought Shaklee.

Shaklee Supplements

Shaklee is the #1 natural health and nutrition company in the U.S.  I used to buy whatever vitamin or supplement was on sale. Occasionally I'd get a little nausea or light headedness shortly after taking them. And I never really noticed a difference in how I felt.

I've been a Shaklee user for about 5 years now, but it wasn't until last year when I decided to give their vitamins and supplements a try. I started with Vita-Lea and D3 and had no side effects at all, but more importantly I noticed a better feeling. Not that I ever felt bad or had any health ailments, I just noticed a good feeling change. I've just started taking the Vitalizer and Vivix, so I'll have to report back in a month on my response to those.

The best part is, I take them worry free knowing they are safe and natural. My daughter takes the children's vitamins as well. Since she's a little picky and has grown up with many allergies, I like knowing she's still getting 'all the good stuff' daily.

Here's a brief list of the amazing supplements Shaklee has to offer. You can check into them more in depth and read the labels on my Shaklee website at Shaklee Nutrition.

Hometown 5K, A's 1st 1 Mile

I love when your hometown has a 5K, it's like a little mini reunion. I have no idea how we ended up, but we couldn't have done too bad. We started dead last in the line up, and we were not last when we finished. But we had fun !

A- tried the one mile fun run for kids. She's never participated in an event like this, so she was quite nervous and unsure she wanted to do it. So my friend T and I kind of walk/ran with her for awhile then let her run ahead and go on her own and she met us up again for the ending. Which was nice because it made her feel more comfortable, but it meant that I did not get a picture of her crossing the finish line for her first race, because I was with her. I saw several people taking picture's for the park district, so hoping to sift through those and maybe there's one with her in it.

I was mad at myself for forgetting to have someone take one of A, my friend T who walked with me and myself. Otherwise, this is all I got.

She wouldn't go up towards the front, she was too nervous she wouldn't know where to go, she wanted to be the last one. Silly kid. Although, we were the last one's in the 5K line up too. Boy, neither one of us are looking for an edge are we?

This and That

Just a little catching up. I hate, and I mean hate when mornings start out like this. The mug has to actually be under the coffee drip in order to catch it.

Going out to eat for a very late and combined Mother's and Father's day supper.

Completely exhausted after swimming all afternoon at a friends pool. This was about 2 minutes after leaving their house.

Earlier this week we had some big storms that produced heavy rain. We had quite a bit of flooding and lots of corn down. The water was across the road on several parts of my route that I walk in the mornings. This is our soccer field to the right of the picture, the park play equipment towards the back. Not seen in picture there was 1 1/2 of the ball fields under water too.

A- has so much fun camping with her friend A-. They hadn't seen each other since school got out, so a sleepover was much needed. And the camping part was a cool bonus.
