How Clean is Your Water?

Everyone knows that water is essential to life. But what's coming out of your tap or bottle may not really be your healthiest choice.

Something I use every single day, seems to get so overlooked. I just want to mention Shaklee's Water Filtration System today. I guess since I use this pitcher as if on autopilot, that I'm assured healthy water everyday, so I forget to talk about the importance of clean healthy water.

Living in the country for awhile, I was never very fond of our tap water. So we would drink bottled water, or water from any of those large jugs. I was a large contributor to our landfills. After giving the Shaklee Water Pitcher a try, I've never looked back. We fill our own reusable water bottles now, it tastes so clean and no more plastic bottles. Many of you know Ashlyn can be pretty dramatic at times, but she's said before "This water is soooo good, it must be Shaklee water".  And anytime she's said that, it has been from the Shaklee Water Pitcher.  So without further ado, here are the facts man.

Shaklee's Water Filtration System

Each Get Clean® Water filter handles 80 gallons of water, twice as much as Brita® and Pur®2, and each filter is made from sustainable coconut shell carbon using a zero-emission process. Plus, it's the first pitcher with a refillable carbon-block filter system, so there's less waste going to the landfills.

Get Clean® Water is a revolutionary new water pitcher filtration system certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) to reduce up to 99% of lead 1 —as well as dozens of other nasty contaminants that can turn up in your water and may be harmful to your health.
While traces of these drugs and other toxins are certainly a concern, it’s comforting to know you can eliminate at least one of the most harmful.....lead.
Lead is the “single most significant environmental health threat to American children,” according to the National Resource Defense Council.

Beats Leading Brands
• Certified to reduce up to 99% of lead (Brita® and PUR® water pitchers are not3)
• Certified to filter 80 gallons—twice as much as Brita® and PUR®2
• First-ever pitcher with a refillable carbon-block pitcher filter system, so there’s less waste going to the landfills

The Smart Choice
• The first pitcher with an automatic meter that shows gallons filtered, so you know exactly when to replace your filter—no more guessing!
• Healthier, cleaner-tasting water for only pennies a gallon

Cleaner, healthier water and a cleaner, healthier planet? We can all drink to that!

Cost per Gallon
I buy the 3 pack of filters.  Each filter, filters 80 gallons of water. The Members price is $51.30. Divide that by 3 filters, it comes to $17.10 per filter. Divided by 80 gallons, and you get $ .21. It cost me .21 cents per gallon for healthy clean water.

How much do you pay for your jug of water?
Or for that 16 oz bottle of water from the gas station?
Can you really trust what is in that water?
Just another reason I love Shaklee, they are always saving me money. Always.

1Substances reduced may not be in all users’ water.
2Compared to Brita® and PUR® pitcher filters at 40 gallons. “Leading brands” is defined as Brita and PUR. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
3This comparison of current WQA and NSF certified reduction claims was conducted on June 16, 2010, on the Brita® OB-36 and the PUR® CR-6000C pitchers and is valid only for the named products marketed at that time. Models compared also are certified to reduce chlorine (taste and odor), nominal particulates, plus the following: Brita OB-36: zinc; PUR CR-6000C: cysts, MTBE, toxaphene, and zinc. Product claims obtained from the respective manufacturers’ Web sites.

“Year of Clean Water” equals 365 days of Get Clean Water
