Shaklee Get Clean Uses

This page is designed to use as a reference for ideas on how to use the Get Clean Product Line from Shaklee. It's overwhelming for new customers to remember all the uses for these products, and for me to list them all for you verbally is a LOT of talking and trust me, nobody likes to hear me talk that much!

The following cleaning ideas and mixture's are not coming from Shaklee, they are from my own personal cleaning experiences, as well as from a few Shaklee friends.

I know what you're thinking when you look at how long this list is, and knowing that I will continue to add to it, you're thinking "SAY WHA, I have to mix this up separately for all that!"  Keep in mind, your 3 main everyday cleaners can easily be mixed and ready to use at any given time from the same 1 product. Most of the following are on an as needed basis, and most do not occur daily. Also, now that I've been using them for so long, I no longer measure exactly. I do the "little bit of this, little bit of that" mixture formula.

Main thing to remember is, Shaklee cleaning products are so highly concentrated it's insane. A little bit truly goes a long way. If you tell me you need more Basic H2 after a couple of months, you are using WAY too much. Basic H2 should lasts the on an average of 9 months to a year.

As a rule of thumb, always add the water first, then the cleaner, then mix.
Shaklee products never leave a residue. They are safe for all plumbing. There are no chemicals, detergents or solvents in them. Safe for people, animals, marine life & vegetation.

Basic H2
3 Main Cleaners to always have on hand for daily use.
  1. Windows/Mirrors   1 or 2 drops of Basic H2/16 oz water in spray bottle
  2. All Purpose   1/4 tsp of Basic H2/16 oz water in spray bottle
  3. Degreaser  1 1/2 tsp Basic H2/16 oz water in spray bottle
  • Bucket Cleaning   1-2 tsp BH/gal of water
  • Bugs on Car   spray with Degreaser strength and let soak for 10-15 minutes before washing
  • Carpet Stains   all carpet and all stains are so different, this is tough to give an exact mixture. Try any of the following. Apply All Purpose or Degreaser strength. Try BH full strength. Nature Bright can be awesome on any carpet or fabric.
  • Chrome   use Degreaser or All Purpose strength to really clean, or simply use Window strength to shine it up
  • Clothing   apply BH full strength (with maybe a little water) to spot or stain, then launder but check out Nature Bright for any laundry needs, it's basically a 'safe bleach' on any fabric, it's amazing
  • Crayon   apply BH full strength to mark, let sit, then wipe clean
  • Dusting   use Window strength to spray on and wipe dry
  • Eye or Sun Glasses   use Window strength
  • Faucets   use Window or All Purpose strength, spray on & wipe dry
  • FlexSeal   removes FlexSeal from hands
  • Floors   1-2 tsp BH/gal of water
  • Floors-Heavy Duty   2 TBS BH/gal of water
  • Fly Spray   4 oz of BH in 21 oz water, spray on horses to rid them of pesky flies
  • Hand Soap   couple drops of BH directly on hands, or a couple TSP BH with water in a foam pump, adjust according to pump size (Shaklee Hand Wash Concentrate is best for this)
  • Invisible Gloves   before messy jobs (painting/staining), apply BH full strength directly to skin, let dry. After job, hands will wash clean more easily.
  • Jewelry Cleaner   add a little bit to a bowl with water and let the item soak, or use 1 drop BH on item, scrub gently with baby soft brush with water, rinse and dry (sparkles like new)
  • Lip Stick   apply BH full strength to mark, let sit, then wipe clean
  • Marker   apply BH full strength to mark, let sit, then wipe clean
  • Odors (skunk, onion, garlic, fish, etc)   rub in BH full strength, then rinse. Or soak item in 1 TBS BH/quart of water, adjust according to item size
  • Ovens   soak oven with Degreaser strength, then scrub with Scour Off. Or mix 1 TBS of BH and 2 tsp of Dishwasher Automatic in sprayer with hot water and soak oven, then scrub with Scour Off.
  • Pet Shampoo   I just put a few drops in my hand and rub over wet dogs and rinse well
  • Pots/Pans   spray/soak Degreaser strength on the burnt or crusted edges, let sit 15-20 minutes while you clean up the kitchen from dinner and wipe with sponge
  • Sap   spray/soak Degreaser strength on stone statue's to remove sap and mold
  • Shaving   apply BH full strength & lather with a little water
  • Siding   we use BH to pressure wash clean our house, I honestly just "put a little bit in", it's probably a couple TBS per bucket, boy that helps doesn't it?
  • Stainless Steel   use Window or All Purpose strength, spray on directly or onto cloth and then wipe
  • Stains   on fabric, carpet or hard surface  use BH full strength, allow to sit, wipe up with wet cloth   spot has usually vanished when you come back to wipe it up  if it's on a shirt, you can let it sit then launder it after
  • Sticker or Gum Residue   apply BH full strength, let sit, then scrape away
  • Vehicles   2 TBS BH/gal of water and wash vehicle (shines with no residue)

Basic G (Germicide)
Do not mix Basic H with Basic G, the Basic H will de-activate the germ killing effects.
  1. Germicide   everyday germicide to keep on hand for daily use, I mix 1 tsp of BG/16 oz water
  2. Kills over 60 microbes, including animal viruses.
  3. 1 quart makes up to 64 gallons of disinfectant.
  • Bathrooms (counter, toilet, faucet, bathtubs, shower stalls)   General Disinfecting strength, spray, let sit for 10 minutes, wipe with damp rag, air dry
  • Calculators   spray General Disinfecting strength on damp rag and wipe clean

  • Diapers (cloth)   add 1 cap full of BG full strength to diaper laundry

  • Toilet Bowl   if you have a dropper, squeeze 1 tsp full strength into bowl, scrub with brush, flush    or I use the General Disinfecting strength most of the time
  • Toys   if it's only a couple toys, I spray with General Disinfecting spray and wipe with damp rag and let air dry, but if you have a bunch, I fill the bathtub up and put 2 TBS of BG in and let all the toys soak. Drain, rinse and air dry.
  • Towels   to freshen up and get rid of musty smell in bathroom towels, add 1 cap full BG full strength to laundry

Fresh Laundry Liquid
I use the big box of Fresh Laundry Powder for my daily laundry, but I'll be referring to the Fresh Laundry Liquid for the following.
  • Collars   use FLL full strength, apply, allow to sit, launder as usual
  • Pre-Spot   for extra power, mix 1 tsp FLL and 1 tso nature Bright to 4 oz (or so, I don't measure it) of hot water, stir until granules dissolve, spray on spots, allow to sit, laundry as usual
  • Super Soak   my favorite soaking method I can't say enough about. Mix approximately 2 TBS Nature Bright and 2 TBS FLL in bucket or sink with hot water. Stir until Nature Bright granules have dissolved. Soak stained or grungy looking items from several hours up to 3 days, then launder as usual. This is the best stain, grunge removal I've ever tried in my life. *** Please note, that almost always, the spot goes away or the gungy item brightens during this soak. But occasionally, such as the cuffs and collar of my favorite coat, to where after a couple of hours it didn't 'look' like they were going to come as clean as I liked. I thought, oh well, I tried. Then threw it in the laundry, and it came out looking brand spanking new again!  So though most items clean up before your eyes during soak, I have had a few things need that soak, then laundering before I could see the amazement of it. I'm telling you people, this method is truly magical. It brightens colors and whites, even from old stains!!! Holy mother of all things wonderful, I just love this stuff.

Nature Bright
This is an enzyme booster, laundry whitener and cleaner. It works better, oh lordy, way better than bleach, and it's easy on fabrics and skin. Safe for you, for me and the environment.
  • Carpet (specific spot)   I mix a small amount of NB with hot water, sometimes a little Basic H2, sometimes not, pour over or spray on spot, let sit. Then I either rinse very well with plain water and blotting, or I use my carpet cleaner on the rinse cycle.
  • Carpet Cleaning   to clean your whole carpet, I use NB and Basic H2 in my carpet cleaner. It's tough to give you an exact measurement since some cleaner you add to the water tub and some have a separate compartment for the cleaner. Mine has a separate water tub from the soap dispenser. It mixes them as it cleans. I add about 1 scoop or so of NB and 1 TB'ish of Basic H2. Cut it back if you are getting too many suds. When I had hard water, I would actually add more of each. Now that I have very soft water, I go less than what I just stated.
  • General   NB can be added to many general cleaning recipes. Use your judgement, but it basically increases the cleaning action and brightening/whitening effect.
  • Laundry Booster & Whitener   I add this to my laundry when needed, add to yours according to the package directions. I always add it to my whites. Occasionally to my jeans and towels, but always to my shirts and bright colors.
• Toilet Bowl   add 2 scoops of NB with a little bit of Basic H2 and scrub with toilet brush, flush. After you scrub it around to coat the bowl, you can let it sit if needed to help with stains.

Scour Off Paste
This is another favorite! Gently removes stains other cleansers can't and is great for cleaning tubs, ovens, sinks, and tiles and it will even remove rust, and is great for cleaning these surfaces: copper, grout, cement, ceramic, and imitation marble.

Directions for best results:  Apply with sponge and plenty of water. Wipe or rinse off.

Surfaces to Avoid: Do not use Scour Off to clean glass, mirrors, stainless steel, marble, silver, brass, aluminum, acrylic, pewter, colorized aluminum, formica, inside the toilet tank, and any other brushed, mirror-like, shiny, or soft finishes.

Since the directions are the same for using this product, I'll just list what I've used it on with great results.
  • Bathtub/Shower  if it's real soap scummed up for soap and hard water, I'll soak it with Basic H2 Degreaser first, then use Scour Off
  • Grills
  • Grout
  • Marker   effortlessly removed permanent marker from counter
  • Microwave (interior)
  • Oven   spray & soak inside with Degreaser strength Basic H2, let sit for awhile, then scrub with Scour Off
  • Rust   on sinks, tubs, toilets, etc
  • Shower Door
  • Stainless Steel Sink   yes, I know above I listed stainless steel as an avoid surface as stated on product page, but I am a rule breaker and I do in fact use it on my stainless steel sink with great success
  • Stove Tops   (not the glass tops)
  • Tile

Accessories
A few accessories that I can't live without that I think are wonderful.
  • Get Clean Spray Bottles  you by no means have to have these, they do not clean better because they are in these bottles, but they are super cute, and they are so easily identifiable that you never grab the wrong one. And I must admit, they are better than your typical spray bottle from the retail store. They spray nice, they fit in your hand nice, and they have the mixture needed printed right on the bottle. Easy Peasy.
  • Microfiber Dish Sponge   I don't use this for dishes at all, though it probably wonderful. I use it to clean my shower! Once I used it, I can't go back to a regular rag for nothing.
  • Microfiber Cleaning Cloth   something about this cleaning rag just soaks up the cleaner and wipes so much better and easier. Love it.
  • Microfiber Window Cloth   this little baby right here, this sucker I cannot live without. Not only does the Basic H2 clean your windows and mirrors well, but oh my, you add this to cleaning them, you will have no more fuzzier ever again. It's glides so nice and cleans so stinking well.
  • Miracle Scrubber Pad   the best little 60 cent scrubber for pans and dishes you'll ever need.
